Glass bedding the SKS
I have a 1954 Tula SKS that is loose in the stock, with fore-and aft movement. Has anyone here any experience with glass bedding the SKS, or know of any webistes or books that discuss where to bed?
Don't waste your time. Re-stock it or sell it. Glass bedding an SKS is an oxymoron.
Thanks Remington, but I prefer to think of it as a project. Yeah, the rifles aren't accurate etc., but I don't see it as a waste of time.
If you want to tighten things up then "play" with it. If you want to get 1.5 MOA with the SKS you can do it with better ammo.
Look at this link at Survivors SKS boards for an answer to your question.
I have a Chinese SKS I'm planning on bedding myself.
Awesome! That's exactly what I've been looking for. Thank you very much - now I'm bound to get in trouble. I have 2 extra stocks I'm going to experiment with before I commit to the original Russian one.
All the best
Ken :D
