1903 03-A3 Bolt Issue
I bought 1903 03-A3 Remington made around 1944. I want to remove the magazine to check the spring, but the forward bolt has an issue. When I turn it left to loosen, it turns about 90 degrees and then tightens up again and stops. It won't come out. I've turned it with pretty good force and I think I would strip it trying to get the bolt out. Any suggestions? I can feel the barrel loosen for that first quarter turn, but then the bolt tightens up again instead of coming out. The rear bolt is okay.

I assume you refer to the action screws/bolts at front and rear of the floorplate? Put the screw at about 45 degrees and soak the heck out of it with PB Partsblaster for several days. Probably some rust buildup on it.
