Remington .30-06 Centenial

Anybody know anything about a Remingto .30-06 Semi-automatic, supposedly a Centenial model, engraved, etc.?
I have a chance to pick one up tomorrow.
Any idea of its' worth?

Any replies appreciated.

New to me - at least the Centenial bit. If it's a commemorative model and it's been fired or (some say) lacks a box, it's just another rifle. Around here Remington semi's are 300 dollar rifles.

I have a 1976 Remington Bi Centennial model 742, in 30/06. It has engraving on the receiver ( 1776-1976), and some very nice wood. One of my wife's brothers gave me to me, so I don't have a price, other than the ones I saw at the local gun shop last weekend, which were priced around $350 for standard ones.
Mine is a great shooter, and I have killed several nice meat deer with it.

Mdl 7400

Looked at this and it's on it's second owner. Second owner said he only fired 2 rounds through it. I believe it had Model 7400 on it (as you can tell I wasn't very interested in it). Stock had to be a fake wood/plastic and it had a Bushnell Scope put on by the 2nd owner (and it was crooked). Had a small metal clip which held (probably) 3 rounds and another semi-clear larger plastic clip which probably held 8 or 10 rounds. All-in-all condition was very good to near new, ie., no nicks, scratches, etc..

Came in a green plastic hard flat case which held cleaning gear, extra clip, etc.

I think he wanted about $100 - $150 more than it was worth.

Thanks anyhow guys...
