Cap & ball rifle

I have a black powder shotgun/.69 cal ball. The barrel is 36 1/4" long. There is an insignia on the hammer plate; it appears to be a quail/grouse standing, facing a flower or thistle. The barrel is 22 3/8" round & the remainder is hexagonal. From all indications it is old but in firing condition. Any ideas as to maker ??
