New From Florida

Hello, ricepaddydaddy here.
I'm a vietnam vet, military history student, accumulator of firearms. My wife and I live in rural North Florida with our horses, chickens and dogs.
She's a hobby farmer, I still have a real job.

Welcome, RicePaddyDaddy (cool handle, by the way).

This is a good place to talk about firearms in particular and just about anything else in general. Friendly, knowledgeable folks who are quick to help and quicker with their wit.

Missed Viet Nam by a little myself. Graduated H.S. in '73, draft was pretty much over by then. Joined the USAF in '75.

My thanks to you and Jaeger for serving.

Soooo...a gun acumulator, huh? Got a favorite(s)?

And thank you for serving our country.
I call myself an "accumulator", because "collector" kinda implies firearms of great value.
My favorites are military surplus, especially WWII.

I was in the Army, and our Brigade was OPCONed to 3rd Marine Division and operated with them from the Khe Sahn Plains to the DMZ.
I spent my year at Quang Tri Combat Base. That was north of Quang Tri City on the way to Dong Ha.
The vacation spot of beautiful, sunny, South Vietnam.

Howdy, neighbor. I'm north of you, in the piney woods NW of Jax.

Welcome aboard! A very nice thing about this forum is that just about everyone here has paid their dues, so have long since lost the need to impress anyone.
Doesn't stop anyone from getting a little wacky, tho!

One more WELCOME HOME, sir! I, too, missed Vietnam by just a few years.
