My stick builder. Ask Moe, once he gets his stick back. Name on request. In comparison to Fulton, there's no comparison (although my Fulton rifle was great too), faster, better, and *ahem* cheaper too.

Okay. I'm requesting. Who do you recommend?

(I'm looking for a new M1A, and I WAS planning on a Springfield, but have been turned off by some of the posted comments.)

Armscorp makes the best M14 for your money (which was the question) bar none. For around 1300 you get a complete rifle with all USGI parts, a sling, manual, and magazine. Fultun used to be an employee at Armscorp (as Smith always loves to point out). Fulton charges around 1200 for their rifles and that doens't even include the reciever! What a rip off!!!!

I've owned a Smith National Match, I own a preban Springfield and I have a friend who has a couple of Armscorp M14s. I've had no dealings with Fulton or even seen one of their rifles, so I can not speak about their products. From my experience, I would have to say Smith due to my N/M...

i've seen some of fulton work. very nice. but the wait is a killer 6 - 12 month.

howeer on this poll we have 2 companies that make new rifles and 2 who custom rebuild rifles. so the fulton or smith would be the better choice regardless.

who builds the best for the money, M14/M1A?

I have never had one built by some one else, is I did it would be Smith. He does a lot of work for the Seals, and they cane get anyone they want. From all I have heard he knows 14s as well if not better than anyone out there.

I took my Devine Texas M1A in to Smith Enterprise this week to have the barrel replaced. The rifle was well taken care of by the original owner but the barrel erosion was an "8" so it is time to get a new barrel. It will get a new Douglas 1:10 heavy weight barrel.

I met Ron Smith. I was impressed. He field stripped my M1A and gave it an exam. I learned quite a bit in just a couple minutes with him. This is the second rifle they have worked on for me. I'm happy with the job on the first one so they got this one to work on as well. I'm looking forward to picking it up.

Buddy Hogan at http://www.bullseyeprecision.com is building my M1A using a forged Smith receiver, scope mount etc as well as a USMC Kreiger barrel and McMillan stock. He knows his stuff and also does M1 Garands. Shooting competitively on Army match team helps too.

Previously worked at Wilson Combat so he knows his way around 1911s.

He sells a lot of neat stuff on ebay and auction arms as seller "goofy92". Often has good Garands for sale. Posting some 1903 and 03A03 guns in the next couple days.

For the money and the QUALITY.Charles W.Maloney, out of Baltimore,MD.
He was head armorer at Fulton for 8 years, rifles that he has built have won several times at camp Perry,is a Vietnam veteran and a hell of a nice person. His attention to detail is superb and price wise he is very very reasonable.I think Fulton-Armory is pricing themselves out of most shooters range, and yes a good rifle is worth waiting for but 6 months to a year is just silly. He will build it better cheaper and faster.IMHO.

I think Smith Ent. gives the best bang for the buck. Big thing is Ron treats you like a customer, not a #. The other thing is Smith will get your rifle back in a timely fashion. I should do a poll on how long it took some people to get a rifle back from Fulton. I know a few people that waited over 1 year! And they lived in Maryland!!!......UW

Urban Warrior,
I, too, had to wait a year to get my Garand from Fulton. They were tied up with a bunch of Camp Perry work. It was frustrating, for sure--until I finally got it! Its just a standard model w/NM trigger and a little front end work, advertised 2.5 MOA guaranteed. What I consistently get is 8rds in
1.5 MOA! Folks who I've let shoot it come away amazed.
Recently I had to wait 4 months for Fulton to get to my M1A. Once again,
a bit frustrating. Had a Krieger barrel and full NM mods on my NM Armscorp receiver. I was promised 1.0 MOA, and am getting .75MOA
with Remington Match and .50 MOA with Federal Gold! Once again, more than pleased with the results!
Guess I'm saying I don't mind the wait, as long as I get what I pay for,
so what's the best for the money? Depends on what you're willing to pay.
I'm happy with them---and continue to give them my business!
