t-star,

I wish that I was able to have a pair of Dobermans at this location but my landlord won't accept any canine except service animals.
(I don't think that I can sell him the idea that guard dogs are "certified service animals.")

yours, sw

i was with "other services" for a while and wouldn't give you thank- you for Dobermans- they're COWARDS if they get hurt or shot- they're also line-of sight attack dogs and can't "scent" worth a damn- and an infallible way to defeat them is either meat or the bitch in heat thing- the shep is FOCUSSED- that's his job and he's gonna do it no matter what- and i OWN this little old 30x40 box with garage- so i'm my own landlord- for as long as the taxman says i can-why do you think the police etc use shepards and now Belgian malnois?- but the Belgian can't take our winters- coat isn't thick enough-so YOU develop a handicap and get THEM certified AS "SERVICE ANIMALS"- i'm sure by your age you've developed some sort of "handicap"- i'm 62 and both my guys are certified service animals- the fact they are also "protection" is beside the point

Good point on shotguns. I won't get into the area of strength, I don't know the lady personally, but there are plenty of nice side by side 20 gauges out there as well as 12s.

(And I've seen some petite people shoot heavy arms, as well as the reversal of the equation, so to each their own, of course.)

DavidE,

WELL SAID. My old Army buddy's (CSM Floyd M__________) lady (Mei Lei) is >65YY, 56 inches tall, weighs about 80# & she handles a 20 gauge Franchi "youth model" quite well.
(She's a dedicated dove hunter.)

I wouldn't want to chance her as an armed opponent. - The female is the more deadly of most every species.

yours, sw
