King's had a line of high-viz fixed sights that were fairly popular for a while. I learned about them in Mel Tappan's book and used them on my second custom 1911, which I built up in the mid-'80s. They're still on it, too, and I couldn't like them more.

I actually liked several of King's products. Their "Hardballer" rear sight was first rate, I'd love to have one on my .38 Super. I may end up making something myself.

Glad to help. I have noticed that several name 'smiths don't bother with the heat-and-stretch method anymore. They just cut out the radius and weld/solder a new piece that is already squared off. Then they blend it out to match. As long as you aren't bluing the frame, the weld or solder joints won't show.
