Diamondback,

NOPE. - The "letter opener" that I'm talking about "looks like" it's made of clear Plexiglas & WILL hold an edge quite well.
(The "Blackie Collins" model will NOT hold an edge in my experience.)

I once had one (attached to my rucksack) that would still shave after being used after any number of "utility cutting jobs".
(Also, for years on AD I carried one inside my boot-top for "Onion Field Insurance"/last ditch defense.)

THANKS, sw

Well, after a day of family fun at a local theme park I'm reminded of why I avoid venues that bring me in contact with folks that raise their offspring with less care than I raise my dogs.

I've also determined that the folks that provide the park's security could probably give the TSA a run for their money. Just in the couple of minutes I was passing through and waiting for my party I witnessed three visitors being refused entry - one had a box of granola bars, one a plastic flask of an undisclosed substance and one with what looked like an ASP.

Saw probably a dozen or so folks wearing empty holsters as well.

After my brief adrenaline producing moment at Planet Snoopy, I expect I've seen my last "amusement" park for a spell.

Some years back I had a gun/holster combo that had successfully done all the rides in Kings Dominion.

When my younger boy and I visited Kennywood, I had to check the piece. Dunno current policy, but at that time if you were legal, they had storage lockers like the courthouse to go with the metal detectors. Wish I'd checked my pocket knife. I was sitting on it when we rode the Steel Phantom before they slowed it down. Had a bruise on my butt for several weeks.

Current policy is no weapons - enforced with metal detectors.

Probably turned out to be a good thing in my case.
