Bagwell Bowie knives

I am wondering if anyone here owns a Bowie knife by Bill Bagwell. I have handled a couple of his knives and I found them well ballanced but I would like to know how they stand up to actual use ( the ones I handled had rather nice thick spines and seemed very well made...but I would like to here from someone who uses one first).

Are you refering to the Bagwell designed bowies produced by Ontario, or the true Bagwell customs? I had one of the Ontario knives called "The Gambler". It was a very stout, well made knife and very sharp. I never gave it any really heavy use, although I think it would have held up well.

I was talking about the Ontario knives. I know I don't have the Money for a custom knife. I was asking because i have seen adds for knives designed by him and I do want a propper bowie knife for when I eventually get into Cowboy Action Shooting.

The Gambler model I had was nice...a bit smaller than the other two models and easier to carry around on your holster rig or in your boot. Has an old west look to it...coffin handle with brass fittings and a leather sheath with a brass stud so you can just slip it inside your belt and it stays in place but is easily removed. Very stout blade and extremely sharp.
