Mauser HSC Commercial War Production

Serial no. 738863 - year of production 1940-41.
Outstanding example - no reblued or refinish.
Second Variation, High Polish Blue with Lanyard Loop.
2 mags with Mauser logo, eagle/N at the right places.
100% original, like a virgin

The story:
German offiser killed at the plains of Røros in the middle of Norway. He came over the border from Sweden, and the Russian front.
This rig was taken from him, by the men who killed him.
The pistol has been in privat property since WWII, not used in the police or the army.

Commercial, and the officer had to buy it himself like many other officer.

Got a PP altso, from a German captain in Kristiansand. He was a officeworker and had to buy his own pistol.

Mauser Guns - Mauser Model HSC Pistol

The grip screws were subsequently moved up about ¾” and by serial number 701348, the Heer (Army) began procurement followed by the various Polizei (Police) organizations, including the Schutzstaffel or SS. The Luftwaffe (Airforce) purchased HSc pistols through the Heereswaffenamt and not their own departments. Military personnel not issued a sidearm often purchased pistols (including the HSc) in the commercial marketplace and carried them into the field.

The latest Dillon 'Blue Press' catalog has an article on the HSc for the centerfold.
It sounds like a fascinating weapon.

Go to: Dillon Precision: Reloaders, Reloading Equipment, Bullet Reloading, Bullet Reloaders
As you will see, Dillon Precision makes reloading gear and accessories. Click on 'Read the Blue Press' in the toolbar along the top; this will take you to the catalog menu. The April edition (which has the article I mentioned) isn't up yet, but the earlier editions have fascinating reading which includes historic firearms.
JUST SO YOU KNOW, Dillon uses stunning young ladies to model guns and equipment, in impeccable taste, of course.

I got one HSc for Kriegsmarine made in 1944, and this commercial made in 1940-41 - both of them has the Eagle/N for wartime production.
