You should receive a renewal packet from ATF with the necessary forms. I got one a couple of months before my license was set to expire.

I had one for 9 years and let it go last year. The two renewals were kind of fuzzy. One year I received info from BATF with a postcard. It didn't really say it was a renewal and I had to read it several times to realize it was. The second and last renewal was a lot more clear. Also, but not related to renewal. Two years before I let my license go I got audited by BATF on my C&R license. Nothing wrong and after it was finished I ask the agent, why me? The agent indicated I filed a multiple handgun sale. Well I never sold more than 1 handgun and that was to another C&R license. Come to find out the license number on the form was 1 digit different than mine. Up until that time I never heard of a C&R being audited. Lucky me.

C & R renewal

My C&R license expires Nov 4 and I haven't heard a thing from ATFE. Is it time to get concerned? Where do I get a renewal form if ATFE doesn't mail me one automatically?

Yes, be slightly concerned. You should have received your renewal packet no less than 60 days prior to the expiration of your current license. I think the forms can be downloaded from the ATF's website, but you might want to e-mail them (they're pretty responsive) to see if they know any details (i.e. maybe they know they sent it out late). Whenever I have a question, I usually write to Daisy Correa (Daisy.Correa@atf.gov) since she was the first person I dealt with at the ATF a couple of years ago when I had a question about my license. Daisy's always been super cool to deal with. She sent me the links to the renewal forms a few months ago when I missed the renewal packet right after we moved to a new address (ATF mail isn't forwarded).

Cheers,

~ Greg ~
