It IS funny. And has been making the rounds for a minute.

Sad part is, folks are leaving law enforcement in record numbers, and getting new recruits is getting more and more difficult. So departments, even large one like Ft Worth, are having to think outside the box to meet recruiting goals.

after pulling a perfect center of mass full mag (12 shots) and locking the slide open , the good old sarge runs the slide forward and then holsters his weapon WITHOUT RECHARGING- IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN ShOOT, ACTION LOCKED OPEN. DROP MAG , INSERT FRESH MAG ,and then holster weapon-AS IT IS HE'S GOT AN EMPTY GUN in his duty holster

I didn't even see him release the slide. I thought he holstered locked back.

Also, I'd be willing to bet cash money he couldn't shoot that kind of group, one-handed, from that range, that fast. Not sayin' nobody can do it, but I'd take an even money bet that this guy couldn't do it, on demand.

I was incredibly impressed by a gun fight scene in Hell on Wheels. The protagonist is fighting his way across a street with a Colt Navy percussion revolver. After five shots he yanks the cylinder and replaces it with a loaded one from a coat pocket, then continues the fight with six more. I almost cheered.

Having fired those weapons -- though admittedly not in gunfights -- I will tell you that it's easier to have a second gun and bring it into action than change cylinders on those old Colt open top type revolvers. Remington made the cylinder exchange scenario much easier.

Dunno, Sar'Major. That's pretty much what I did. Went to the Academy when I was 40. I'm just trying to hang on till I get my 25 in for the State retirement. ;)

We have several guys that have had a hitch or two in, and they are all good deputies. Getting hard to keep them because surrounding agencies pay so much better then we do.
