Ambush of Police in Louisiana

Seven charged over shootings of 4 sheriff's deputies in Louisiana - U.S. News

<http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2012/08/18/13345337-seven-charged-over-shootings-of-4-sheriffs-deputies-in-louisiana>

It sounds like an organized group of suspects ambushed police who were investigating the prior shooting of an officer. Two officers died in the second shooting, which happened while they were interviewing two suspects.

Hummm, were any weapons recovered and SNs checked against the Fast and Furious list?

We've had a problem with a few of these "Soveriegn Citizens" in our jurisdiction. Nothing violent, thank God. One did put a leign on our Sheriff's house (suprisingly easy to do) when he was served eviction papers.

Sovereign citizens linked to La. deputy killings

No matter, the press will report that the rifles were AK-47's even if it was a Steven's Crack Shot.

Geoff,

Inquiring minds want to know...what are you up to? (I don't know what Hell's Desk is) And if you don't want to answer, stay safe.

Oh...and typical US Journalism...a LOUSY story. No background, no suspected motive. They act like these things just "happen" from time to time for random reasons. Multiple suspects tells me there's some sort of "organization" to these wack jobs...so what's their deal?

I would think so, but it may be nothing more than a mutual insane hatred of legal authority. Maybe nothing more significant than a small group of thugs conspiring to rob a bank. Do you think there's a deeper, more significant plot involved?

Well I’m not implying anything, but when you see that many people involved it falls under the “things that make you go hmmmm”. Just wondering if there’s a new group of kooks on the block.

Well it seemed centered around one family and their friends. Family organization seems to be common with "Soverign Citizen" groups, like the father and son who shot it out with police a while back

(Warning, very baad stuff here)

Plus the infamous Kehoe brothers.

I confess, I am a professional Computer Geek. (I get extra points on the Geek scale for being in the Projection Club in the 1960's)
Even worse, I am a DoD Issue Computer Geek working for a disregarded Watch Dog Agency. Defense Contract Management Agency - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

My soft cushy job has been merged with the Global Service Desk (Formerly The Help Desk, usually referred to in the industry as the Hell Desk, because you usually deal with problems, sometimes insolvable problems and people who are the bottom 10% of the bottom 10% of skill level computer users.)

Cross reference: UserFriendly.Org for a very censored version of what I do two plus hours per day now.

I stand as the "LONE GEEK" in all of NE FL, the First Coast.

Geoff
Who notes he works a lot longer than he gets paid, but this is war.
Who just does it for the applause...ghod only knows there isn't a lot of money at the end.

Well, to tell a family secret, I lettered in Band. Guess that makes me a nerd, not a geek. But I think we're kissing cousins...in a strictly hetero way of course.
In all seriousness though, thanks for hanging in there, Geoff. We do appreciate what you do. It takes a lot of folks doing a lot of jobs to keeps boots on the ground, planes in the air and ships in the water.

I've got a little sign it says, "Shut up and Soldier, Private Timm."

Ah feel your pain. From the dimwit who didn't understand that he needed to sign on to the network to read email to the stupid cow who carped about her laptop modem not working at home but couldn't be bothered to test it while I was on the phone until I forced the issue in a conference call. "Uh. Why didn't I hear a dial tone when the modem dialed out?" "Oh, this phone outlet isn't connected ... Is that a problem?" I wanted to adorn her car with a snarky bumper sticker about kneepads but she lived in Southern California and she wasn't worth the drive.
