How to ID an FN Upper Receiver?
Guys, how can I ID the upper receiver I am about to list for sale? I beleive it to be FN. The barrel is clearly FN (FNMI MP 5.56 NATO 1/7), 20 inches, birdcage flash, round handguards, front sight base marked "X RI 12". The receiver itself matches in color the barrel, A1 sight, round FA, no brass deflector, dust cover, but no markings whatsoever that I can find. I want to sell it as FN but how do I positively ID the receiver?
Thanks in advance guys.

Hate to burst your bubble, but FN never made M16A1's or parts thereof. They only make M16A2's and M16A4's (maybe some M16A3's, but not sure). FN got the M16A2 contract in around 1989. FN Plant is located here in Columbia out on Clemson Road.
Additionally, FN has NEVER made parts for the commercial market, only for the U.S. Govt and law enforcement. I have heard that FN marked parts are from a bin of rejects that some employee pilfered and decided to make a quick buck. BE CAREFUL!!!!
