Folks, from one of our favorite sources: Gun Review: Intrepid Tactical Solutions RAS-12 Shotgun and Shotshells - The Firearm Blog

I vaguely remember back in the 80s there was a brief attempt to import aluminum and plastic shotgun shells from Argentina. Ran into import troubles. As I recall it was an aluminum hull with a rounded plastic cap and external O-rings to seal. Rounds used standard primers and could be loaded with a simple priming tool and dip measures.

Who appeals to collective memory.

Interesting....They got their history wrong. The modern shot shell as we know it today, was invented by Charles Daw in 1866. The design was a genesis of an idea that goes all the way back to the very first metalic cartridge gun; the Pauly gun of 1812. Which incidentally was a 20 bore (modern 20 bore shell will drop right into the chamber) centerfire reloadable cartridge.

Like these brass cannon's casings here....from The Michael Bane Blog

and I love this quote in relation to rifle in the article..

When I finally got to shoot a 4-Bore a few years ago at one of the Vintager World Cups it was everything I hoped (or imagined) it would be. The double-barreled 4-Bore didn't so much recoil as alter the entire space-time continuum...one instant I was standing in one place; the next instance, a different place. The entire universe shifted a couple of degrees...like being in an episode of Dr. Who.
