I believe that the problem with the latest type-classified AP 7.62 is that it isn't sniper-grade ammunition. There's a bit of difference beyond 600 meters between standard 7.62, generally meant for MG use, and Sniper, or Special Ball , normally meant for precision work in rifles.

In the article, it mentioned two types of Russian precision rounds. One was AP, the other API. Under the Conventions of the Hague Accords, API ammunition would be banned from engagement of personnel, under the cruelty definitions.

I would also think that the Iraqi snipers use of it would also be banned. While I don't believe that they'll stop, the violation of the Convention removes them from it's protections. Clears the way for the use of JHP by American forces. This is one of those times where "everyone" identifying themselves as "jihadists" could help us. :D

Duhhh....Switzerland..Sweden...well, they both ARE European, and they both start with an S and a W.

The Swiss made the K 31s, and the Swedes made the 1894 and 1896 Mausers.

The article is talking about BOFORS, the reknowned Swedish arms makers.

The Swedes recalled their ambassordor to America during the Vietnam War. The Swedes stayed neutral during WW2, so that they could sell war material to both sides. They blocked aid to Finland during Finland's 2 terrible fights with the Russkies. They interned Allied fliers during WW2, not letting them return to their home bases. They let the Nazis transverse Sweden to supply their troops in neighboring Norway. They ridicule and oppose us at every turn. They gave our draft dodgers sanctuary during Vietnam.

Just why should we spend a nickle with those phonies?

I know that they have a viable defense industry, but for all the 'peace and love' crap, why should we support it? Don't we have our own defense industries at home? Or did they all go down when the east coast liberals torpedoed Springfield Arsenal, in 1968?

I'd rather our tax money went to someone other than a 'neutral,' (someone that won't stand with his neighbors.)
