I have several thousand rounds of this stuff and I have just recently read that case splitting was known to happen. Have any of you had this problem? I have shot 500-1000 rds with no problems. Should I seperate and reload the bullets and powder and recycle the brass? Thanks.
I have read it on various gun forums e.g. Fal files and others that excape memory.
As my original thread states I have fired 500-1000rds without a problem. This is why I ask if any of you had problems.
The problems explained in other forums were split cases (with pictures), some excessive pressure and even weapon damage. I am thinking of seperating the bullets and powder and recycle the brass.
i shot 2000 odd rounds through 2 Norinco M14 copies with no problems whatsoever i just checked the headstamps on the cases i have left that have been reloaded and they are -80 as well
iirc it was as accurate as south african but less accurate than hirtenberger (but what isn't?)
Funny you should mention that, Donny Fenn. I just picked up some hertinberger 7.62 todat for $7 a box. I only got 2 boxes because I'm short of funds, but if its good stuff, this saves me a thread! Thanks!
If you're buying Hirtenberger for 35 cents each I suggest you do at least a third mortgage to buy every bit you can. Or more likely, go kick him in the groin region for lying to you.
its coper washed steel. a magnet sticks to the bullet, and just to make sure it was the jacket, and not a steel core, I shaved off a little bit of the bullet, and the flake stuck to the magnet.
As for a third mortgage, they only have maybe 5 boxes at $7 each.
They also had indonesian ammo. I almost bought that, but then I saw h-berger, and quickly but silently made a switch. haha.
No problems here with TZ-80. I've shot up about 1200rds through 2 NorincoM14s, an M1A Bush rifle, and a Socom. Still have about 500rds left. Decent stuff. clean burning, and about as accurate through my rifles as Port surplus at around 2MOA.
This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
